Hat Box

Sized for the widest hat we make, which means it takes anything else in the catalogue. Uncoated paper cover, no plastic window. Leave the lid off in damp weather: straw wants air more than it wants protection.

How open the weave is

Not a woven item — a closed rigid box, so it also blocks airflow.

Straw is a plant

Four things
this hat does.

Printed before you buy, not after you complain. A hat that cannot carry all four lines does not go on sale here.

  • Cracking

The box is rigid board. Dropped on a corner it dents permanently rather than cracking cleanly.

  • Fading

The uncoated paper cover fades where it sits in daylight. Store the box out of direct sun.

  • Reshaping

A dented corner can be eased back from the inside, but the crease line stays visible.

  • Weave gaps

Not a woven item. It is a closed box, so it also blocks the airflow a straw hat wants — leave the lid off in damp weather.

Care

  • Keep it out of dry heat

Store away from radiators and out of direct sun; heat marks the cover and sets the foam.

  • Mist, do not soak

Keep the brush dry between uses; let the shaping pad dry fully before it goes back in the box.

  • Reshaping

Mist lightly, press flat between two cloths and leave it on a flat surface overnight.

  • Storage

Store it upside down on its crown, or in a hat box. Never stack anything on the brim.
